Three Application Scenarios Demonstrate Taiwan’s EdTech Strength
METAEDU’s showcase centers around three immersive educational settings: the “Smart Classroom,” the “Makerspace Playground,” and the “Language Bar.” These demonstrate the participating Taiwanese companies’ technological expertise and innovative capabilities. The program is dedicated to driving the innovative development of Taiwan’s learning industry, emphasizing international collaboration and real-world application. Through global exhibitions, METAEDU strengthens the international competitiveness of Taiwan’s educational technology sector.

The response at the expo was enthusiastic. The innovative technologies and products presented by these Taiwanese companies drew significant attention from Japanese industry stakeholders. Some companies have already connected with local distributors and secured arrangements to leave demonstration units in Japan for follow-up testing and showcase. These results mark a strong step toward penetrating the Kansai region and highlight the formidable potential and competitive edge of Taiwan’s learning industry.
METAEDU also conducted a classification analysis of visitor organizations. The results showed that more than 60% of participants came from education-related institutions (such as schools, universities, and educational organizations) and EdTech, publishing, and IT enterprises—clearly reflecting the expo’s focus on educational innovation and digital transformation. Notably, some attendees represented local governments and welfare institutions, indicating strong potential for public-private collaboration in education and offering diversified cooperation opportunities for Taiwanese companies entering the Japanese market.
In-depth Exchange and Expanding Collaborations: Building a Taiwan-Japan EdTech Bridge
Beyond exhibition participation, the METAEDU team actively visited Japan’s largest online education institution to gain firsthand insights into its digital learning and AI teaching practices. These face-to-face exchanges helped the team better understand the actual needs and potential partnerships within Japan’s education ecosystem, laying a solid foundation for future transnational cooperation.
The delegation also visited open innovation hubs such as QUINTBRIDGE and JAM BASE Syn-Salon, exploring ties with Japan’s innovation ecosystem and investigating the integration of smart learning with industrial digital transformation. These visits helped establish a professional Taiwan-Japan network in smart education and opened discussions on possible technical collaborations and pilot implementations with local partners.
Eyeing the Asia-Pacific: Strengthening Taiwan-Japan EdTech Collaboration
This visit not only increased the international visibility of Taiwan’s EdTech brands but also helped identify key trends and demands in Japan’s smart learning market. Japan is expected to become a strategic gateway for expanding into the broader Asia-Pacific region. The mission laid the groundwork for deeper bilateral collaboration in digital education, teacher training, and technology R&D—ultimately enhancing the global competitiveness of Taiwan’s learning industry.
Through its participation in this global expo, the METAEDU program has not only elevated the international profile of Taiwan’s learning industry but also created a strategic foundation for overseas expansion. It is a clear demonstration of the Administration for Digital Industries’ commitment to advancing industrial transformation and upgrading.
